Hello Mike,
While not saying you will have no success, the Chip Factory is from my searching a Rev Ed product pre 2000 so around 20 years old.
The system accepted some BASIC commands and converted to PIC machine code.
If are Rev Ed were to sell the firmware it originally involved a license.
Rev Ed will never release the source code for their products (think Intellectual Property)
If you are new to PICs and PICAXE might I ask why you wish to resurrect this old obsolete equipment?
Would it not be a better path to use the newer PICAXE chips which have a more extensive set of BASIC commands and for which there is free software for program development and program download into the PICAXE chips.
You are not very likely to find someone to support and help with any question about the Chip Factory whereas there are many folks here who can assist with the latest PICAXE microcontrollers.
