Capacity differences between both picaxe 28X1 and 28X2

Capacity differences between both picaxe 28X1 and 28X2, can some one explain to me what are the memory capacity differences between microprocessors 28X1 and 28X2? According to what I have read both of them have the same memory capacity, thus what’s the benefit of using microprocessor 28X2 rather than 28X1?

Both have 256 bytes of Data Eeprom Storage.

The basic program size for both is 4096 bytes, but the 28X2 has three additional 4096 byte internal slots for programs and the capability to hold and run more from external I2C Eeprom.

The 28X1 has a 128 byte scratchpad (RAM), the 28X2 has 1024 bytes.

Other benefits of the X2 include increased operating speeds ( up to 64MHz for 28X2-3V ) and particularly individually addressable pins, eg, any I/O related command can use almost any pin.
