However, it's not clear whether the budget LCD actually has a backlight or not. The LCD board itself to which the AXE133 board is connected has three pairs of holes at the right-hand end of the board marked A1 & K1 (anode & cathode) which according to the led008.pdf file are connections to the backlight, though the aforementioned file (so far as I can see) doesn't have any spec for the backlight: voltage, current, etc.
I tried connecting my +5V supply (+5V to A1, 0V to K1), via various lowish value resistors (4k7, 1k0 then 470R), and didn't get any glimmer of light. Should I have seen it light up? Was I doing something wrong? Help appreciated please. Thanks.
