AXE091: 5V or 3.3V or ??

It seems like most of my recent projects have been based on a 3.3V or lower power supply so when trying to use my AXE091 development board for these, I've had to add additional complexity of a voltage regulator, capacitors and jumper wires or use a battery pack. I still wanted the option to use 5V on it but didn't want to break out the soldering iron every time I needed to switch voltages. I set about designing a custom PCB with an adjustable regulator and switches to set a variety of voltages but then decided to keep it simple since switching voltages isn't a frequent task. I found ROHM has a series of TO-220 regulators that are pin compatible with the 7805 that is currently on the AXE091 with fixed voltages that can be used in this application (1.8, 2.5, 3.0, 3.3, 5.0). I desoldered the 7805 regulator and soldered in a female pin header. Now switching voltages is as simple as unscrewing the existing regulator, plugging in the desired one, and putting the screw back in.
