AXE034 Pricing

The AXE034, according to the Techsupplies website

includes a clock chip and backup battery.

Now, why does the AXE034 (costing £3) from Techsupplies cost more than buying BAT004 and MIC055 seperately (costing £2.86, a 14p saving), or is there something else included with the AXE034 that isn't mentioned?

All component kits always cost more than their component parts, due to the fact that somebody has to spend time counting them out and packaging them (and the packing materials cost money as well).
Our staff do like to be paid at the end of the month....

Yes, like all the rev-ed kits, its called value add. Much prefer to spend a couple of bob extra to make sure nothing missed.
