AXE031 (SD21) Info

Hi All

I was reading through the AXE031 documentation again and I found something that loooked interesting.

Now there are several sets of registers in the AXE031. A high precision one with the capability of setting the speed (16bit position and 8bit speed), and a low precision one (8bit position) but NO speed.

However I read that the AXE031 internally converts the low precision register to the 16 bit one - basically 6 high precision points for every 1 low precision points.

I send a quick question to a UK firm and they have confirmed this.

Setting the speed and then setting a low precision register will enable the speed function on an AXE031.

So if you want an slow movement on your servo and not waste a byte in storage you can do the above

Hope this helps.

Good investigative work there Dave.

The topic of programming the AXE031/SD21 does arise on this forum form time to time.
Your information should be of assistance to minimise the number of variables used for control and the data storage requirements.
