auto power on and off

Hiya all,

Just wondering, is there a way of getting a picaxe to power it's self off? What I'd like to do is press a button, the picaxe "wake" carry out it's function and then turn off.

I have in mind a push switch into a tranny, then an output feeding back into it so it remains on then turning the output off in code at the end, thus turning the whole circuit off. Sounds too easy to work

Any thoughts?

- yup, that's right. A single transistor is not the same as a relay.

The above links will show this has been pretty well covered and I'm sure you'll find a solution to suit somewhere amongst them. Try them out and try your own idea out.
