8x8 dot matrix pin out (colunms and rows)

hi i have just got some 8x8 dot matrix and when i was testing them they only light some leds so i thought it was my breadboards which is isnt as when i have been playing around with them its the pins which are not in order like all the rows on one set of 8 pins and all the colums on other set of 8 pins so i was just wondering if all dotmatrixs are like this and if anyone has a pin diagram or a data sheet for them any help will be great thanks alot

its ok problem found it was the pins were in a odd order so i started typing random bits of these nummbers and letters which were on the dotmatrix into google and i got a pdf tried it and i got all the leds to light up so ive found the rows and coloums just to put them in order now
