21 channel servo module

hi

I have a 21 channel servo driver module which I have installed a 18x picaxe chip.

My query is how do I download to it?

the module has Tx, Rx,Attn and Gnd. The picaxe has serial out, serial in and 0v.

How do I connect it up or is there an easier way?

Another question

In my project, it is powered by a few small power packs of different voltages. For example with the above module a 5 volt plugpack which runs the picaxe and a 6 volt to run the servos. My question is should all the negatives be connected?

Is this the Rev-Ed AXE031 21 Channel Servo Controller or something else ?

If it is that; page 4 of the AXE031 manual shows how to wire a 3.5mm jack socket to the connector ( Attn is not used ) which will allow downloading into your PICAXE fitted to the board.

Regarding 0V lines ( battery negative connections ), yes, these should all be connected together.

hi

thanks for the quick reply

Yes, it is the axe31

I found the picaxe download connection thanks to you. I had printed the datasheet from the uk robot website, very similar to picaxe but missing the connection diagram.

With the various powerpacks, so they can be treated the same as batteries and connected all the 0v together ?

Yes, DC power packs will have their 0V connected just like batteries.
