12F508 to picaxe 08m2

hi, i have 2 tubes of picaxe 12F508 micros which are for rf transmitter and receiver i bought 2-3 years ago. But now i don't need them anymore. So i wanted to re-write the firmware and turn them into 08m2 so that i can use them for other purpose. because right now they can only use for RF trans and receive.
please give me some suggestion, how can i do that. any idea will be appreciated. Thanks

Hi,

If it was possible, you could make lots of money selling PICaxe's cheaper than Rev Ed. :)

Cheers, Alan.

The 12F508 is a very old PIC and predates even the original PICAXE 08 (12F629) and the 08M(12F683). The 08M2 is built on the much-more sophisticated 12F1840 silicon. So, firstly, technically impossible.

Secondly, as others have already said, the PICAXE interpreter firmware is licensed to Revolution Education (And jealously guarded, since it is their bread-and-butter). Rev-Ed sells licensed copies of the 08M2 firmware programmed into PIC12F1840 chips.
