Are Rev-Ed & Picaxe missing out??

Of course there are tons of "other chip" options. You can fill your day chasing shiny new things and trying to keep up with every new chip. I still think Picaxe is the easiest chip to teach and learn. I use them in my freelance projects and include a programming cable and code to my clients so...

Exactly! Connection wasn't soldered (blue arrow) and was making & breaking connection. Fixed it, but calibration is off. AliExpress seller is sending a replacement. Good service!

    Wireless programming ?

I like this discussion, the "optical screen read" path reminds me of the Datalink option on sold of my old Timex Ironman watches. Good for one-way communication from the PC monitor screen (CRT only, LED/LCDs didn't work) to the watch. The screen would flash crude barcodes and a phototransistor...

Are Rev-Ed & Picaxe missing out??

I finished the prototype and got four micros working together: 2 Picaxes (20M2, 14M2), a digital ozone sensor w/ micro, and the Gameduino. It's an Ozone Garment Disinfection unit as detailed at https://www.o3technologiesinc.com/.

Running Picaxe Editor 6 on a Raspberry Pi

I can't answer the question myself, but it's an interesting one. A little Googling led to this page, which says a $55 RPi4 can run Windows 11 Insider Preview edition, and that other users have run Windows 10 IoT Core: https://www.pcgamer.com/windows-11-raspberry-pi/ I don't know if or how much...

Rubik's Cube Simulator for PICaxe ;-)

It's faster for me to just unpeel the various colored square stickers and replace them on matching sides. Then I sleep like a baby, guilt-free.

    Wireless programming ?

Yes, wireless would be awesome. I had forgotten goeytex efforts. goey, if you perceived any lack of interest, mia culpa! The little orange Australian Edison educational robot isn't wireless, but its novel 'EdCom' programming cable plugs into the HEADPHONE jack of the PC instead of USB. It...

JK, I don't need one. But 'fess up, who bought 'em? Had to be forum peeps. BTW the seller says he may have more. Will advise!

Surely a PICAXE could be shoehorned in somewhere

WRT getting people interested in the hobby, my own experience is that people gravitate to the simplest things. No one has any interest in how their cell phone works, but try showing them a simple item that makes them think "even I could to THAT". I purposely build quick things from found items...
