The PicAxe documentation refers to a Graphic LCD Interpreter Chip, GLIC-K, manufactured by FGC. It looks to be quite a powerful chip but I have not found a distributor. I contacted FGC and they indicated that they do not sell to the 'end user'. I cannot find anyone who sells this chip...
